The Kidney Foundation of Canada, Annual Gala 2024

On March 9th, in honour of World Kidney Month, NephroCan attended The Kidney Foundation of Canada’s 12th annual gala. The fundraising event raised an impressive $419,000! The generosity and solidarity of the kidney community was truly remarkable. Every contribution made will play a pivotal role in advancing kidney research, elevating patient care standards, and advocating for improved treatment options. As a platinum sponsor, we are honored to have played a role in this significant event and remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting kidney health for patients not only in Canada, but worldwide.

ERA-EDTA 2023

ERA’s annual congregation of nephrologists, researchers, clinicians, and industry experts took place from June 15-18 in Milan, Italy. Now in its 60th year, the convention once again brought together the brightest minds in nephrology, fostering dialogue on the ground-breaking advancements in renal medicine. This year’s congress welcomed 9,361 registered participants from 123 countries, and 92 exhibitors. NephroCan proudly showcased our full suite of products, with an open-air booth design and warm, Canadian hospitality. Our team had the privilege of engaging in fruitful discussions with leading nephrologists and business associates, exchanging ideas, and exploring potential partnerships. Additionally, our post market surveillance and nursing team attended scientific presentations led by distinguished researchers, with topics ranging from novel therapeutic approaches for CKD to cutting-edge diagnostic technologies that promise to revolutionize renal care. The knowledge gained and the connections made at ERA 2023 will fuel NephroCan's journey toward a brighter, healthier future for kidney patients worldwide.

ERA-EDTA 2022

The ERA (European Renal Association) Congress was a hybrid affair, as the event took place online and live in Paris, in person, between 19-May 19 and 22 May. ERA-EDTA (European Renal Association- - European Dialysis & Transplant Association) Congress is in its 59th year and attracted almost 7,500 participants, a Twitter following of over 370,000, and 1,351 speakers across 226 sessions. This year, the congress focused on new ways research methodologies may change in the near future and why nephrology is one of the main areas of medicine that can benefit from those developments. There were 87 sponsors and exhibitors, including NephroCan, where as we unveiled the new NephroHDM hemodialysis machine to the European market for the first time. Designed in consultation with physicians, clinicians, and nursing staff, NephroHDM uses the latest electronic technology of ARM-based processor and embedded- system technology and has an innovative user interface. This provides significant operational and cost -efficiencies and streamlines staff workflow without compromising product quality or the safety and comfort of patients

Asia Health 2021 

Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, Asia Health 2021 was held virtually. NephroCan was a Registration Partner, and exhibited virtually. Held between October 19 and 21, the trade show and congress brought together over 2,000 exhibitors and participants from 75 countries, organizations and businesses looking to share expert knowledge, promote new ideas, and demonstrate almost 350 products for use in the ASEAN region. Supported by various local and international medical associations, this year’s congress featured more than 40 speakers and the same number of business and clinical educational sessions.

Africa Health 2021

NephroCan virtually participated in the Africa Health conference, the continent’s largest healthcare event, joining 150 exhibiting medical equipment manufacturers and suppliers from 21 countries around the globe. The exhibition provided delegates with the opportunity to learn, network, and engage in business conversations with the 8,500 pre-registered attendees and 4,000 online visitors— hospital procurement teams, distributors, clinicians, and healthcare-industry professionals. In total, over 1,800 products were exhibited and demonstrated, while 161 international speakers addressed delegates across 83 CPD accredited sessions. The event attracted over 15,000 followers on social media.

ERA-EDTA 2020 

In the shadow of the global Covid-19 pandemic, members of the NephroCan team joined over 10,000 delegates at the 57th ERA-EDTA (European Renal Association - European Dialysis & Transplant Association) Congress. It was not held with the beautiful backdrop of Milan, as planned. Instead, the entire show was held virtually between January 6 and 9 and beamed across the world. Delegates from over 110 countries were greeted online by 200 speakers in 93 live virtual sessions, alongside 350 virtual presentations. During the four-day event, the pandemic shone a spotlight on neurology and highlighted the early observations that the virus could cause serious harm to the kidneys through elevated albuminuria and creatinine levels. Therefore, the program was subject to last-minute changes to accommodate topical, up-to-date discussions as the global situation rapidly changed. These included sessions on acute kidney injury and end-stage kidney disease in severe Covid-19 cases, the particular risk to dialysis patients, and the prognosis for those patients receiving transplantation therapy.

Asia Health 2020

Held virtually for the first time due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year’s Asia Health exhibition and congress once again brought together participants from all over the world, seeking to answer the needs of the healthcare and medical laboratory industry during these challenging times. Taking place between November 18 and 20, Asia Health provided unprecedented opportunities for professionals to network and access expert knowledge, wherever they happened to be in the world, ensuring that business would go on amidst the uncertainty. Supported by various local and international medical associations, this year’s congress consisted of 13 multi-disciplinary conferences and seminars. Medlab Asia featured core pathology tracks for laboratory professionals while Asia Health hosted clinical conferences for physicians, as well as seminars on healthcare management, procurement, and medical devices.

ERA-EDTA 2019

For the first time since 1986, the ERA-EDTA (European Renal Association— European Dialysis & Transplant Association) Congress, was held in the Hungarian capital, Budapest. The 56th congress and exhibition took place at the HUNGEXPO Congress & Exhibition Centre from June 13 to 16. Almost 3,000 exhibitors showcased their latest theories and technologies. NephroCan showcased our newly certified products for the first time. With the need for renal replacement therapy rising, an impressive range of sessions, abstract presentations, and other activities were available to the 9,129 delegates from around the world. The theme of the congress was “‘precision nephrology” and included the potential for predicting acute kidney injury, the effects of hypertension, nephrolithiasis, and how non-related drugs can have an impact on patients with CKD.

Arab Health 2024

NephroCan marked a significant milestone at Arab Health 2024, solidifying our position as a leader in renal care. Drawing in a diverse audience of 120 attendees, our networking luncheon on January 30th showcased our unwavering commitment to advancing healthcare on a global scale. From unveiling a new product offering (NephroHDX) to hosting insightful presentations on the future of dialysis, NephroCan's presence exemplified a dedication to shaping the future of kidney care. As a highlight of the event, Dr. Ehsan Nobakht, MD, FASN, delivered a thought-provoking keynote address on precision dialysis in the era of artificial intelligence. His expertise added depth to the discussions, highlighting the intersection of technology and nephrology.

Arab Health 2023

Arab Health 2023 saw record-breaking numbers, with over 63,000 visitors attending the congress at the Dubai World Trade Centre between January 30 and February 2. Sharing the experience with 3,357 other exhibitors from 76 countries, NephroCan was proud to be in attendance for the fourth consecutive year. In addition to displaying our full product offering in an open-concept booth space, we participated in an editorial opportunity with Omnia Health Magazine for the special Arab Health issue. The article spotlighted NephroCan's dialyzers, a product offering that provides the efficient removal of waste solutes from the blood in hemodialysis treatment. The special edition magazine was shared both digitally and in print during convention days, with 6,000 copies placed in high-traffic areas at the event.

Arab Health 2022

In January, Arab Health, the Middle East’s leading medical equipment exhibition, brought together over 56,000 healthcare professionals at the Dubai World Trade Center, all looking to learn, network and source innovative new products. After a difficult few years, the event brought together more than 3,500 exhibitors, including NephroCan, Canada’s leading manufacturer of dialysis equipment. The company introduced delegates to its latest innovation, the NephroHDM hemodialysis machine. Designed in consultation with physicians, clinicians, and nursing staff, NephroHDM brings significant operational and cost efficiencies and streamlines staff workflow without compromising product quality.

Arab Health 2021 

From June 21 to 24, the Dubai World Trade Center hosted Arab Health 2021, the largest exhibition in the MENA region dedicated to the latest innovations and advancements in the healthcare industry. The trade show, in its 46th year, welcomed more than 2,000 product manufacturers and service providers from 85 countries, providing the opportunity to connect with healthcare authorities and healthcare provider from the Middle East and around the world after a difficult year, and particularly face-to-face events. Over four days, almost 23,000 visitors from 172 countries met with the 1,700 exhibitors. Over $210 million of new business deals were generated. Online, 19,699 visitors from 31 countries participated, including Chile, Congo, Mauritius, Zambia, Bolivia, Costa Rica, and Dominican Republic. NephroCan once again joined the medical community virtually through the hybrid attendance model.

ERA-EDTA 2021 

As Covid-19 evolved and spread rapidly, the 58th ERA-EDTA (European Renal Association - European Dialysis & Transplant Association) Congress was a hybrid event, with speakers, chairs, and delegates attending live at CityCube in Berlin, and virtually, from 115 countries around the globe. NephroCan was a proud sponsor of the event. During the convention, held between June 5 and 8, over 5,200 delegates listened to 1,159 speakers share their expert opinions on current and future dialysis treatments for CKD. Over the four days, more than 21,000 live and recorded sessions were held, in excess of 2,300 people tuned into the CEPD courses, and the convention attracted a following of almost 20,000 on Twitter.

Africa Health 2020

2020 will see the first edition of Omnia Health Live Africa, that continent’s largest virtual healthcare exhibition. Between October 12 and 16, NephroCan joined some of the leading medical equipment manufacturers and almost 5,500 industry leaders and brightest minds from the regional and global healthcare community. We shared knowledge, demonstrated innovative new products, and networked with African hospital procurement teams, distributors, clinicians, and healthcare industry professionals in a virtual space. NephroCan was also the Registration Partner for the event. The exhibition hosted 277 exhibiting companies from 35 countries, showcasing almost 3,500 products and services.

Arab Health 2020

Marking its first time as an exhibitor, NephroCan joined almost 85,000 healthcare and trade professionals at the 44th Arab Health Exhibition and Congress, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre between January 28 and 31. Officially opened by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of Dubai Health Authority, the exhibition and congress hosted 4,130 exhibiting companies from 66 countries. The Arab Health Exhibition and Congress provided an important platform for the MENA healthcare industry – a chance for NephroCan to build relationships with international stakeholders and explore new business opportunities in global healthcare. At this year’s exhibition, more than 35 hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities from both the public and private sectors showcased their expertise and latest innovations, and discussed new clinical trials, including those for renal replacement therapy in intensive care.

ERA-EDTA 2018

NephroCan joined 120 exhibitors and almost 10,000 other participants at the 55th ERA-EDTA (European Renal Association - European Dialysis & Transplant Association) Congress, held at the Bella Center in Copenhagen, Denmark – the largest conference center in Scandinavia. The Congress, from May 24 to 27, was the largest annual nephrology congress in Europe, providing an ideal opportunity for the NephroCan team to meet with associates and develop new relationships. As usual, the event showcased the latest research and guidelines in all aspects of nephrology and covered a range of topics in the form of live lectures, plenary lectures and symposia.
